Who We Help

We help children with sensory, social-emotional, motor, and academic concerns

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL

We take a developmental approach to helping children with social skills. We look at increasing eye contact, getting longer back and forth interactions, developing insight and empathy through pretend play, becoming flexible in play, and developing more complicated gray area thinking. To move forward with these skills, we address the whole child and their ability to stay calm and connected.

SENSORY PROCESSING

Some children have difficulty taking in sensory information from their environments. They may be over-reactive to touch or sound. This sensory sensitivity can impact the way a child will engage with other children or learn in school. It's important to look at the seven senses of "touch, hearing, taste, smell, sight, movement processing, and body awareness" and how they effect how a child is doing at school and at home.

FINE MOTOR AND GROSS MOTOR DEVELOPMENT

Some children have difficulty with keeping up with the pace of motor activities with regard to their peers. They may appear clumsy or disinterested with challenging motor tasks. We help children strengthen necessary muscles, increase body awareness, and refine their gross motor and fine motor skills.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

It can be very challenging for children when they are unable to communicate their needs and wants with others. This can lead to barriers in relationship building and academic success. Our skilled speech therapists help children gain confidence in their ability to communicate with others

ACADEMIC CHALLENGES

Many children have difficulty with classroom routines. There is varied structure, demands, distractions, and more sedentary time. Children may have difficulty remaining engaged during class time, transitioning from one task to the next, and engaging with peers and teachers. Often, there are underlying reasons why a child is having difficulty in the classroom. We can help children with regulation, attention, organizational skills, hand writing, and fine motor skills.
